What's the bathroom situation?
We have one bathroom in the apartment, so we expect to coordinate a little with our guests so that nobody is inconvenienced. If you plan to shower early so you can head to town, let us know so we can make sure the shower is available for you when you need it!
Do you provide towels, linens, and shampoo?
Absolutely! We have freshly cleaned towels and bed linens for all our guests, and you are welcome to use any of the shampoos or other supplies in the bathroom. We provide a hair dryer and mirror in your bedroom as well.
Can I use the livingroom?
Limited use is fine with us. You're welcome to eat your meals at the dining table and enjoy the view from the livingroom. Unfortunately, the livingroom is currently Laura's office, since she works from home. She won't mind a little noise or going back and forth, cooking in the kitchen or a few minutes of chatting together, but extended use of the livingroom would make it hard for her to work.
Is it okay for me to come and go late at night?
Absolutely. We are both deep sleepers and very used to having guests staying with us. You are welcome to come and go at any time. Just try to keep the noise level to a minimum when you enter the building late at night since our neighbors can hear any commotion in the hallway.
Can I use your balcony?
Yes! In the summer, we love to eat breakfast or just sit and look at the view from the balcony, and we hope that you will too. Please be aware, though, that the dog and cat have complete access to the balcony and this is where they are allowed to use the bathroom. We always try to keep it cleaned up, but if you see something unpleasant, just let us know and we'll clean it up immediately.
Can I smoke inside?
For the comfort of our guests and to keep cigarette smells out of the room, we ask that you do not smoke inside the house. Smoking inside is a violation of our house rules and we may have to ask Airbnb for an extra cleaning fee or replacement of linens fee if you do so. Instead, please be welcome to smoke outside away from our neighbor's windows, or on the balcony where we have an ash tray. Please wash your hands before you go to bed. Thank you!
Can I store my luggage/bicycle/stroller at your house before or after my check-in date or time?
Yes! We would be happy to help make your travels easier by storing your luggage in our locked basement storage area before or after your reservation. Just ask!
F R E Q U E N T L Y A S K E D Q U E S T I O N S
We want your stay here to be as pleasant and easy as possible for everyone! This information is here to help you get what you need, as well as inform you of our expectations as hosts.
Can I use your kitchen?
Yes! We are happy to share the kitchen with you, including all cooking supplies, tableware, utensils and spices. You are welcome to keep your food in the refrigerator or cabinets. We can work together to make sure that cooking times don't overlap, if we both need to use the kitchen.
Is breakfast included?
Breakfast is not included as part of your reservation, but we have stocked your room with coffee and tea.
What should I do with dirty dishes?
You can load your dirty dishes into our dishwashing machine when you are finished with them, and we'll take care of the rest! Please make sure to scrape and remaining food into the trash bin below the sink before you load them. Thank you!
Can I play with your dog and cat?
Yes! Huxley and Judah both love to meet new people and are usually very happy to get some attention from our guests. Judah may not be willing to show his face at first, so if he's hiding and doesn't want to greet you, we ask that you leave him alone until he's ready to make friends. Both Huxley and Judah are good with children and non-aggressive (with small kids, Judah may simply run away, but Huxley may cover them with kisses).
Can I use your washer/dryer?
Probably! We have a combination washer/dryer in the basement laundry room. One load generally takes 6-7 hours, so there might be some scheduling difficulties if we are washing laundry for the next guests. However, if you let us know ahead of time we will make sure the machine is available for you!
Where can I park my car?
There are usually plenty of parking spaces available on the street in front of our house. There are no restrictions for parking and you will not have to pay a fee!
Will I get a key to the house?
Yes! Please be extra vigilant with keeping your key safe. There will be a $75 replacement fee for a lost key, which is the cost of replacement for us. We would have to request a duplicate key from our homeowner's association and make a special trip to the key-maker once we had the paperwork in order.
Please lock the apartment door AND the front door to the house when you come and go. Thank you!
