We hope that the check-in/check-out process can be as easy and informal as possible. Below is some basic information:
What time can I check-in?
Our regular check-in time is 1pm (13:00h). If we have guests who were staying with us the night before, then an early check-in will usually not be possible. However, if you're arriving early and want to drop off your bags, just let us know and we'll be happy to help you.
What time do I need to check out on my last morning?
Our check-out time is set for 11:00am so that we have time to make the house clean and change all the linens for the next guests who will arrive.
Where should the dirty linens and towels go?
Dirty linens can stay on the beds - we will remove them after you leave. Dirty towels can be hung on the knobs on the closet or bedroom door. Thank you!
Do you charge a cleaning fee?
No, we do not charge a cleaning fee. As long as you leave the house looking pretty much the way it did when you arrived, aside from used linens, towels, and items in the trash cans, then there is no need for a cleaning fee.
What if I have to leave early in the morning?
If you are leaving early in the morning, just let us know what time you expect to go and we will get up and say goodbye to you. If you would rather not say goodbye in the morning, that's okay too, and you can just let us know that you will check out early and leave on your own.
What is the review process? ✭✭✭✭✭
The Airbnb review process is very important, both for guests and for hosts! Many hosts will not allow guests who do not have positive reviews to book their homes. Similarly, most guests would not want to book a home that does not have positive reviews!
A few hours after you check out, Airbnb will email you (and us) asking you to fill out a short review. We would very much appreciate your positive review! Your five-star reviews are what helps keep our business running. If you have a complaint, we would also appreciate it if you could bring the issue to our attention so we can help fix the problem before you write your review. We are proud of our five-star rating and want to make sure you have a five-star experience as well.
What's the deal with the security deposit?
When you book the room, Airbnb will take information for security deposit collection but will not charge your card or hold your money unless there is some reason for a claim. We have never had any reason to ask for deposit money from any guest before.
We would only make a claim toward the security deposit in certain cases - for example, a lost key is expensive for us to replace, and we would collect a deposit for that. We also reserve the right to charge replacement fees for broken items that cannot be repaired or in the case of extreme uncleanliness requiring an inordinate amount of work to clean. However, we have only had positive experiences with guests and the deposit reservation is only there as a precaution.
Where should I leave the key to the house?
Please leave the key with Laura or Gisle when you are checking out. If you have to check out when nobody is home, please lock both doors and leave the key in the mailbox across the street labeled "Laura & Gisle Gaasemyr". Thank you!
